Tammy Schoessow
February 28, 1974 — September 9, 2026
Tammy Schoessow, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on February 28, 1974, in Poughkeepsie, New York, Tammy was the cherished daughter of Albert and Dorothy Schoessow Sr.
Tammy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. She attended Arlington High School in LaGrangeville, NY, where she made lifelong friends and discovered her passion for creativity. Following her high school years, Tammy pursued her love for beauty and style by attending cosmetology school in Albany, NY, which paved the way for her successful career as a hairdresser.
With unwavering dedication, Tammy owned and operated "Shear Expressions by Tammy Louise," a salon in Highland, NY. Her salon was not just a place for haircuts and styling; it was a welcoming sanctuary where clients became friends and friends became family. Tammy's quick wit and warm smile were her trademarks, always ready with a joke to lift spirits and a helping hand to those in need.
Tammy's greatest joy in life was her beloved son, Alex Strandberg, whom she loved unconditionally and supported wholeheartedly. Tammy found immense happiness in spending time with Alex and her mother, sharing laughter and creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Her love for nature was profound, often retreating to the Catskill Mountains to bird and animal watch at her mother and bud's house. These moments brought her peace and a sense of connection to the world around her.
Tammy is survived by her son, Alex Strandberg of Poughkeepsie, NY, and her siblings, Albert and Tracy Schoessow Jr. of Surfside Beach, SC. Her family and friends will always remember her as a beacon of kindness and generosity, a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
Tammy Schoessow's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit. She leaves behind a tapestry of beautiful memories and a reminder of the importance of kindness and connection. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
