Tammy Casey, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 12, 2026, after a brave and determined battle with lung cancer. Born on July 7, 1965, in Princeton, West Virginia, Tammy was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her.
Tammy was the cherished daughter of the late Benny and Claudine Clay. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Wallace, Ricky, and Billy Casey, and her sister Sharron Clay. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her children, Tabatha Hall and her husband William, Ashley Hill and her husband Akeem, and her son Anthony Hungate. Additionally, Tammy was a devoted grandmother to Isaiah and Isaac Hall, Rylan and Aria Hill, and Jayden and Jackson Hungate. She leaves behind her treasured siblings, sister Barbara Casey and brother Doug Casey, who will deeply miss her presence.
Tammy's career as the lead housekeeper at Radford University spanned 15 dedicated years, during which she made countless friends and touched numerous lives. She retired in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Her colleagues fondly remember her quick wit, beautiful smile, and her gift for lighting up a room with her friendly words and joyful gestures.
Outside of her career, Tammy found immense joy in nature, tending to her many flower gardens and basking in the warmth of the sunshine. Her gardens were a reflection of her nurturing spirit and love for beauty in the world.
In honor of her life, the family will hold a private funeral ceremony to celebrate Tammy's remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association, an organization close to Tammy's heart.
Tammy's family and friends will forever cherish the memories and love she shared with them. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
