It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tammie LeAnn McKinney, who went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on July 6, 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, Tammie was a beloved daughter of Melanie McKinney and Odis Parker. She was preceded in death by her son, Terrence Dillard, and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Tammie’s life was a testament to the strength of love and family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ezell Matlock, and her loving children, Tamara Felix, Ashley Crawford, Melissa Crawford, and Deric Greer. She was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Tammie also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A graduate of Central High School, class of 1987, Tammie pursued her passion for learning at Southwest Tennessee Community College, studying business administration. She was admired for her dedication, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to building a better future for herself and her family. These qualities were not only evident in her career but also in her personal life, where she inspired everyone she met.
Tammie’s vibrant spirit was reflected in her love for cooking meals filled with love, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and sharing laughter. Her home was always a welcoming haven, beautifully decorated and filled with warmth. An avid shopper, she had an eye for creating lasting memories and treasured every moment spent with loved ones.
A service to honor and celebrate Tammie’s remarkable life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Brown Baptist Church, located at 7200 Swinnea Road, Southaven, Mississippi. In recognition of the profound impact she had on those around her, the family extends their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Your prayers, encouragement, and acts of kindness have been a source of comfort.
In remembrance of Tammie, we ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. May her memory be a blessing, and may her spirit continue to guide those she loved so deeply.
