Tameshia LaShay Porter

December 23, 1999 — March 12, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Tameshia LaShay Porter, an extraordinary soul whose brief journey on this earth touched the lives of many. Tameshia departed this world on March 12, 2023, at the tender age of 23, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and the enduring hope of a life fully embraced. Born on December 23, 1999, in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi, Tameshia was a beloved daughter to Tina Porter. Her life was a testament to the strength of familial bonds and the beauty found in simple joys. She is survived by her cherished son, Jalil Porter, and her siblings: Tiffany Porter, Travon Owens, Tyreese Porter, Thalian Bowen, and Darnell Hartwell. Tameshia's close-knit family also included her dear Aunt Pearlie Cox and Uncle Thomas Cox, who played pivotal roles in her life. Tameshia was a woman of many passions, her spirit fueled by a love for fishing, drawing, and creating. Her art was a reflection of her vivid imagination and her desire to capture the world's beauty in unique and inspiring ways. She possessed a heart as vast as the dreams she held, always offering kindness and care to those around her, even if she sometimes tried to conceal the depths of her compassion. Her dreams were as grand as they were heartfelt. Tameshia aspired to explore the world, immersing herself in diverse cultures, and hoped to one day secure a piece of land big enough for her family to flourish together. She delighted in discovering odd facts and learning about the customs and traditions of distant places, which fueled her wanderlust and her dreams of global adventures. A service to honor Tameshia's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 3420 Albermarle Rd, Jackson, MS 39213. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a young woman who was both a dreamer and a doer, whose brief time among us was marked by creativity, compassion, and an insatiable curiosity about the world. In parting, Tameshia's family wishes to share a special message: "Tameshia was a loving soul. She always discovered weird facts and loved to learn about different cultures. She wanted to travel the world and live in different countries. She had a wild imagination." Though her journey was far too short, Tameshia LaShay Porter leaves behind an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her light. As we say goodbye, we hold her dreams close, vowing to carry her legacy forward with love and hope.
