It is with profound sorrow and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Sylvia W. Thompson, who departed this world on May 9, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 10, 1939, in Burnaby, B.C., Sylvia was a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Sylvia was the beloved daughter of the late C. L. Moffat and L. Laura Moffat. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, and her brother William whom she deeply loved and admired. Sylvia was an amazing mother to her children, Joseph (Andrea) Donisi and Carlotta (Paul) Goudy. Her love and guidance were constants in their lives, and her legacy continues through them. She was a proud grandmother to Nicole, Joseph, and Sylvia (Derek) Church, and a joyful great-grandmother to Lilian Donisi and Griffin Church, who brought her endless joy and happiness. Sylvia is also survived by her loving sisters, Lilian and Alice, who formed and unbreakable bond of a lifetime. Her extended family includes not only numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, but a bonus daughter Debbie Bartee in which each of whom held a special place in her heart. Sylvia embarked on the journey of marriage with Carl D. Donisi in 1963, with whom she had her beloved children, Carlotta and Joseph. Though their paths eventually diverged, Sylvia later found love again and married Darrell Thompson, with whom she shared many happy years. Professionally, Sylvia was renowned as a bartender extraordinaire. Her career was marked by her exceptional ability to bring people together, serving not just drinks but also fostering connections and creating lasting memories for all who crossed her path. She left the world of work to spend time and to assist elder parents through their old age until their passing. this was her gift of love, respect and gratitude. Sylvia was a proud member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and contributed to the community she loved. Her later years were filled with the joy of spending time between B.C. and Port Angeles, opening her home to family and friends and creating a sanctuary of warmth and laughter. Her life was a rich tapestry woven with threads of loyalty, duty, and fun. Sylvia's infectious laughter and adventurous spirit were the hallmarks of her personality, endearing her to everyone she met. A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held on June 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Eagles Lodge in Port Angeles, WA. The family warmly invites all who knew Sylvia to join in commemorating her life. Food will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a special dish or item to share, honoring Sylvia's love for hospitality and togetherness.
