SYLVIA GIBSON
April 19, 1953 — April 26, 2026
Sylvia Gibson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 19, 1953, in Lakeland, Florida, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Violet and James Bozeman. She was predeceased by her cherished parents and her brother, Toy Daniel Bozeman.
Sylvia's journey through life was marked by resilience, warmth, and a profound love for her family. She was a devoted wife to Marvin Gibson, with whom she shared seven wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, and Marvin was by her side through every triumph and challenge.
A proud graduate of Kathleen High School, Sylvia embarked on a career that showcased her dedication and skill. She worked as a furniture refinisher with Badcocks for nine years and later took on the role of a supervisor at Oakcraft Corp for seven years. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and hardworking professional who brought grace and expertise to her roles.
Sylvia's greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her loving children: daughters April Lowe and Melissa Gibson, and son Jeffrey Gibson. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren—Lindsey, Dylan, Makayla, and Richard—and her great-grandchild, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Beyond her family and career, Sylvia had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Baby Girl, who was her constant companion. Her gentle spirit extended to all creatures, and her home was a place of warmth and welcome.
In the words of her family, "Mom, I miss you every day. My days are not the same; I'm really having it hard without you. Life will never be the same without you. I hope you're dancing in the sky, Mom, and I know you are. Until I see you again, I love you."
Sylvia's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the bonds of family. Her indomitable spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed but cherished forever by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private service will be held to honor Sylvia's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer research organization of your choice, in Sylvia's memory.
