It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia D. Huddleston, who departed this life on July 5, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 24, 1949, in Newport, Kentucky, Sylvia was the cherished daughter of Lester Peters and Loraine Cox. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, which was her most treasured possession.
Sylvia was a beloved wife to James Huddleston, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Kimberly Taylor, who survives her and holds dear the countless lessons and love shared between them.
Sylvia's career was marked by dedication and hard work. She retired from Seagrams and Ara services, leaving a legacy of commitment and professionalism. Her colleagues remember her not only for her work ethic but also for her infectious smile and the childlike giggle that could brighten even the darkest of days.
A doting grandmother, Sylvia was predeceased by her grandchildren Molly, Madison, Brooke, and Logan, and is survived by four wonderful grandchildren, along with great-grandchildren Isiah, Eli, Cali, Ashton, Luke, and Graci, who were the light of her life. Each of them carries forward her spirit and zest for life.
Sylvia was predeceased by her beloved children Kimberly Taylor and Jimi Huddleston, who were always held close in her heart. Her legacy of love and kindness is carried on by her surviving family members, who will continue to honor her memory.
Sylvia had a profound love for animals, a passion that she nurtured throughout her life. The family kindly suggests donations in her memory be made to the Humane Society, reflecting her enduring commitment to the welfare of animals.
A celebration of Sylvia's life will take place on July 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Jackman-Hensley Funeral Home in Harrison, Ohio. The service will be a time for family and friends to come together and share memories, laughter, and tears as they remember a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of all she met. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream on Facebook.
Sylvia's forever smile and childlike giggle will be forever missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. As her family lovingly reflects, "My mother was a lover of animals," capturing the essence of a life lived with compassion and joy.
