August 11, 1959 — June 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Anne Daigle, who gently departed this world on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 11, 1959, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Sylvia lived a life rich in love, kindness, and cherished memories. She was 66 years old at the time of her peaceful passing after courageously facing a two-month-long battle with multiple complications following surgery. Sylvia was the beloved daughter of the late Sylvia C. Hartmann and Louis J. Daigle, and sister to the late Steven L. Daigle. She is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Stephen Francis McNeil, whom she lovingly married on March 26, 2011, at St. Agnes Church on Jefferson Highway. Their union was a testament to unconditional love and companionship, filled with shared dreams and lasting memories. Sylvia's life was a tapestry woven with the love of her family, including her treasured siblings Cheryl Caronia, Marie Daigle, Wendie Daigle, and Robin Rodriguez. Her legacy of warmth and kindness lives on through her nieces Pam, Cindy, Jennifer, Allison, Heather, Lindsey, and Isabel, and her nephews Stephen, Keith, and Ethan. Though she had no grandchildren or great-grandchildren, her nurturing spirit embraced every member of her family and extended beyond, into the hearts of all who knew her. An avid Disney enthusiast, Sylvia shared a passion for the magic of Disney with her mother, often finding joy in the timeless tales of Disney movies and the enchantment of visiting Disney World. Her gentle spirit resonated with the wonder and imagination that Disney inspired, a reflection of her kindness, generosity, and the boundless joy she spread to those around her. Sylvia's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Ochsner Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown during her illness. Special thanks to Nicole Wickem and Ethan Rodriguez for their dedicated attention and care, and to Heather Hassenboehler and Diane Brouillette for their unwavering presence and support during her final days. Your kindness and love have left an indelible mark on our hearts. As we mourn the loss of Sylvia, we take solace in the words of Jamie Anderson: "Grief is just love with no place to go." Her love continues to live on in the memories we cherish, and her gentle spirit will forever guide us. Sylvia will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will remain with us always. May she find eternal peace in the warm embrace of the heavens.
