In Loving Memory

Sydney Sweeney
March 4, 1994 — July 29, 2026
Sydney Sweeney, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 32 in her Taunton, MA home, surrounded by the warmth and comfort of her loved ones. Born on March 4, 1994, in Milford, CT, Sydney touched the hearts of many with her unyielding love and compassion for both people and animals.
Sydney's early life was marked by a deep connection with animals. Her journey into animal care began at the tender age of eight, when she started volunteering at local animal shelters. This passion led her to pursue a career in veterinary science, graduating from Foran High School in 2012 and later earning her degree as a Veterinary Technician from Southern Connecticut State University in 2016. Sydney dedicated her professional life to animal rescue, a calling she embraced wholeheartedly since turning 16.
Her commitment to animal welfare extended beyond her career, as she was an active member of Cat Protection Taunton, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of countless feline friends. Sydney's selfless care for animals was a testament to her nurturing spirit and unwavering empathy.
Sydney's love extended to her family, especially her nephews, whom she adored. She is survived by her beloved mother, Maryanne Sweeney, and her devoted sister, Jessica Sweeney. Her family remembers her as a beacon of love, always giving and putting others before herself.
In celebrating Sydney's life, a private service for close friends and family will be held at Watson Pond State Park in Taunton, MA, on Friday, August 22nd, at 12:00 P.M. This serene location, one of Sydney's favorite places to find solace and freedom, will also serve as the site for the scattering of her ashes.
Sydney's legacy of compassion and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. In her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local animal rescue or charity of choice, honoring Sydney's lifelong dedication to the welfare of animals.
