Suzanne Annette Powers, affectionately known to many as "Suzi," was born on August 14, 1963, in Rochester, New York, to the late Jessie Thomas Anderson and Savannah Mary Anderson. She was a cherished daughter and a beloved sister to her three siblings: Jackie Anderson, Tiffany Anderson, and Jessie Anderson Jr. Suzanne's journey was a tapestry of love, dedication, and resilience, deeply cherished by those who knew her.
Suzanne was a woman of remarkable commitment and dedication. For over two decades, she contributed her talents and hard work to Howard and Hannah, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues before retiring to focus on her family and personal passions. On July 16, 2005, Suzanne's life was beautifully enriched when she married Kevin Powers, the love of her life. Their union was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering partnership that stood as a testament to their devotion.
As a proud mother, Suzanne's heart was filled with love for her eight children: Tyler Smith, Taylor Smith, Jamila Powers, Kanika Powers, Rashida Powers, Kevin Powers Jr., Faith Powers, and Jovan Powers. Her legacy of love extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found immense joy and pride in her 20 grandchildren. Suzanne's family was her world, and she was theirs—her love was a guiding light in their lives.
Suzanne's vibrant personality and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Known for her kindness, athletic spirit, and infectious laughter, she had a special affinity for plants and shopping, always embracing life with enthusiasm and joy. Suzanne had an extraordinary ability to make everyone around her feel loved, welcomed, and cherished.
On August 29, 2025, Suzanne passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Although her physical presence has departed, the love she shared and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Suzanne’s beautiful life and her enduring spirit will continue to be celebrated and remembered by all who knew her.
Suzanne Annette Powers will always be remembered for her boundless love, her infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone she met. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
