It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Susanne Erickson, who left this world peacefully on May 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 18, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Susanne was a cherished daughter of John Bruzek Sr. and Betty Bruzek.
Susanne's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. She grew up in a large, lively family, filled with the laughter and warmth of her siblings: John (Dena) Bruzek Jr., Arnie Bruzek, Gloria (Terry Sr.) Neuman, Barbara Wilson, Chris (Don) Scheifelbein, and Dawn (David) Johnson. She carried the values instilled by her parents throughout her life, nurturing her own family with the same compassion and strength.
A proud graduate of Grantsburg High School, Susanne went on to work at Northern Manufacturing in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where she dedicated her skills and spirit to her work. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent worker and a kind-hearted friend, always ready to lend a helping hand.
On June 18, 1969, Susanne embarked on a beautiful journey of love and partnership when she married Ken Erickson. Their marriage of 57 years stood as a beacon of unwavering devotion and mutual respect. Together, they created a family filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of togetherness. Susanne's legacy lives on through her children: Susette Walsh, Eric (Mickey) Erickson, Teresa Fagnan, and Kenny Erickson, as well as her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Susanne's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to her community, where she was an active member of the American Legion. Her dedication to service and camaraderie touched many, and her contributions will be long remembered.
In her leisure time, Susanne found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed the occasional casino trip, and cherished moments spent with family and friends. Her loyal companion, Rosco, was always by her side, providing comfort and companionship.
Susanne is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, John and Betty Bruzek, her son Kenneth Erickson, Jr., and her sisters, MaryAnn McCracken and Joanne McCann, who predeceased her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In honoring Susanne's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asks for privacy as they navigate this profound loss.
Susanne Erickson's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, family, and community. Her gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless love will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
