Susan (Susie) Jeanette Huffman, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, just shy of her 64th birthday, at Clovernook Nursing Home in North College Hill, Ohio. Born on June 4, 1962, in Waynesville, Ohio, Susie was a vibrant soul whose laughter and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Susie was the cherished daughter of Samuel and Delores (Gilman) Huffman, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Cindy (Carl) Hochchild, brother, Steven Huffman, and her beloved cat, Tiki. Susie is survived by her devoted daughter, Cassy Cook, and her treasured grandchildren, Isaiah Cook, Micah Lackey, and Leah Lackey, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Huffman and Rebecca (Anderson) Messer, and her nieces and nephews: Samantha Baker, Ashley Huffman, Vince Larson, Sam Larson, and Andrew Brown. A 1980 graduate of Waynesville High School, Susie went on to pursue her passion for the culinary arts at Warren County Vocational School. Her career at Burger King spanned nearly three decades, during which time she became a beloved fixture to her customers and colleagues, known for her pride, excitement, and infectious smile. Susie’s hobbies were as diverse as her personality. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was fishing, swimming, or cheering at baseball games and other sports events. A true horror movie aficionado, Susie's passion for playing the piano brought her immense joy and solace. Known for her quirky personality and quick wit, Susie never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Her honesty and straightforward nature were tempered with warmth and humor, endearing her to all who crossed her path. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Clovernook Nursing Home and Queen City Hospice for their compassionate care during Susie’s final days. They also wish to express their appreciation to Susie's friends who loved her so dearly. Susie's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where stories and memories of Susie will be shared and cherished. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of one’s choice in Susie’s memory. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
