The world lost a beloved soul with the passing of Susan Niznak on October 18, 2026. Born on October 10, 1955, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Susan was a beacon of kindness and strength throughout her life. She was the cherished daughter of the late Marvin and Sally Krebs, and sister to the late David Krebs. Her heart and her life were shared with her husbands, the late Patrick O'Connors and Gary Krueger, and, most recently, her devoted and loving husband, Daniel Niznak, whom she married on September 26, 2015. Susan's journey in life was marked by compassion and dedication. She graduated from Mercy College of Detroit with a Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesiology, embarking on a remarkable 48-year career as a nurse. Her work was a testament to her commitment to caring for others, a reflection of her innate kindness and nurturing spirit. Her heart extended beyond her professional life into her community. Susan was known for her loving volunteer work as a baby rocker in the neonatal intensive care unit, an act that spoke volumes of her gentle nature and love for the most vulnerable. Her passion for gardening transformed into a beautiful way of giving back, as she crafted wreaths and table arrangements from her flowers to donate to the food pantry and bring joy to her friends. Susan's adventurous spirit led her across the United States, where she visited over 50 National Parks, creating cherished memories of road trips filled with awe and wonder. She was always planning her next adventure, a testament to her zest for life and curiosity about the world. Her church family and "Church Lady" friends were central to her life, providing a circle of support and fellowship. Together, they shared in the joys and sorrows of life, embodying the spirit of community and faith that Susan held dear. Susan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service, survived by her beloved husband Daniel and many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply. Though she had no grandchildren, her nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless children and families throughout her career and volunteer work. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Susan's memory.
