It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Susan Louise Greig, who left this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, just shy of her 78th birthday. Surrounded by the love of her daughters, sister, and lifelong, treasured friend, Susan departed from us in the comforting embrace of those she cherished most. Born on June 11, 1948, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Susan was the beloved daughter of Leonard and Isabel Gubrud. She was a sister to her predeceased older and younger brothers, Wayne and Jim Gubrud. Susan's life was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Susan's journey was one of deep devotion to those she loved. Her marriage to Richard Greig brought her two cherished daughters, Kristy (Chris) Secord and Katie (Michael) Clarquist. Despite the challenges of divorce, Susan's focus never wavered from her daughters, whom she adored and supported with every fiber of her being. Her strength and love were the cornerstones of their lives, and her legacy continues through them and her beloved grandchildren: Hailey Przybylski, Reece Przybylski, Alexis Secord, Amelia Clarquist, and Gavin Clarquist. In the professional sphere, Susan began her career at Sta-Rite Industries in Delavan, where she first met Richard. Her career later took her to Southern Lakes Credit Union in Elkhorn before she returned to Sta-Rite Industries, from which she retired in 2010. Susan's work ethic and dedication were admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Her passions extended beyond her work. Susan was an avid reader, a lover of Scrabble, and found immense joy in spending time with her family. Her weekends were often spent on the sidelines, cheering enthusiastically for her grandchildren at their various sporting events. Susan's love for the outdoors and the simple pleasure of relaxing in the sun reflected her appreciation for life's natural beauty. Susan is survived by her loving sister, Sheri (Steve) Kaminski, and her treasured childhood friend, Nancy Ward, who shared countless memories and adventures with her throughout the years. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at Vintage on the Ponds and Badger Hospice, whose support and kindness provided comfort during her final days. In honoring Susan's memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to Lakeland Animal Shelter or, in a nod to her love of nature, planting a tree in her memory for others to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Susan Louise Greig was a beacon of love, kindness, and unwavering support. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will endure through the generations she inspired. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived, a mother deeply loved, and a friend truly cherished. May her soul find peace and her memory be a blessing to us all.
