May 23, 1948 — December 15, 2025

Susan Jane Mark (Corlew), a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2025, at the age of 77. Her passing marks the conclusion of a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family and community. Born on May 23, 1948, in Sinclair, Wyoming, Susan was the beloved daughter of Jack Stephenson Corlew and Marcine Jane Corlew (Lentz). She spent her early years in Wheatridge, Colorado, where she graduated from Wheatridge High School in 1948. Her academic journey continued through Colorado State University, Casper College, and graduating the University of Wyoming, where she honed her skills and love for numbers. Susan dedicated her career to bookkeeping and accounting, a path that allowed her precision and attention to detail to shine. Her professional life began at various companies and culminated at places like the Warehouse and Tim Force Tin Shop. Throughout the years, she also offered her expertise privately, always enjoying the intersection of people and numbers. In 1976, Susan married the love of her life, David LeRoy Mark, and together they built a family grounded in love and faith. Although David preceded her in death, their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Family was the cornerstone of Susan’s life. She leaves behind her cherished sister, Ginger Gay Corlew; her devoted daughters, Barbara Ann Cawley (Mark) and Jenny Sue Mark; and her adored granddaughters, Camryn Cawley, MacKenzie May Cawley, and Marcine Jane Corlew. Her loyal companion, Cuddles, will also greatly miss her presence. Susan was predeceased by her parents, her brother Bryan Lynn Corlew, and her beloved husband, David. Susan was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, where she nurtured her faith and contributed to her community. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for cross-country skiing, hiking, and long walks in state parks with her dogs. A woman of many interests, Susan had a penchant for music and dancing, often sharing her mischievous laugh and contagious smile with those around her. She possessed a delightful sense of humor, finding joy in life's clumsy moments, and was known for her compassion towards animals, offering her home to a variety of pets over the years. In her family's words, Susan embodied the spirit of Louisa May Alcott's sentiment: "...the love, respect, and confidence of my children was the sweetest reward I could receive for my efforts to be the woman I would have wanted them to be… The family expresses their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory can be made to the International Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy Association, located in Burnsville, MN, USA, honoring her life and the causes she cared about deeply. Susan Jane Mark's legacy of love, humor, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished and her spirit celebrated.
