Susan Hinton Woody

Susan Hinton Woody, of East Peoria, Illinois, age 64, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on July 27, 2026. She was a well-regarded mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, throughout her dynamic life. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her well. Born on April 25, 1962, in Peoria, Illinois, she was the youngest daughter of Jerry Lee Hinton and Dot Britton Hinton of East Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Dot Hinton, and her son, Jerry Lee Ankeny. She is survived by her four daughters, Stacy Ann Forster, Jamie Lynn Ankeny, Jacquelyn Lohmann Powell, and Tiffany Lohmann Cox, and her two sisters, Julie Hinton Phillips and Janet Hinton Walker, as well as 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and extended family. Susan was known for her sentimental nature, and for her love of animals, family gatherings, and good times. She was easy to talk to and often wise beyond her years. Her surviving children are all immensely grateful to her for giving them life, and she will hold a place in many people’s hearts forever. A celebration of life will be held on August 25, 2026, at 3:30pm, at Luthy Botanical Garden, Rose Garden, 2520 North Prospect Rd, Peoria, Illinois. We will have a potluck-style gathering with friends and family. All are invited. Please feel free to bring a dish.
