It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Susan Garretson on September 1, 2026. Susan was born on October 2, 1947, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those she loved most.
Susan was the beloved daughter of Oran and Hazel Maness, who predeceased her, along with her dear sister, Tywonia Maness. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kellie Cheyanne Emmons, and found immense joy and pride in her role as a grandmother to her favorite grandson, Keaton Zane Witt. Her family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Throughout her life, Susan was known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering support for those around her. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Susan's warmth and generosity extended beyond her family, as she was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in need.
A service to honor and celebrate Susan's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Longview Community Center, located at 500 E Methvin, Longview, TX. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Susan are warmly invited to attend and pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Susan's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization she deeply admired. The organization is based in Jacksonville, FL, and is dedicated to supporting veterans and service members.
Susan Garretson's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of light and love.
