Susan Dawn Book (Sonju), a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 30, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Susan was the cherished daughter of Dale and Dorothy Book, who predeceased her, along with her siblings Brenda Book, Blair Book, and Robin Hollingsworth. Susan graduated from Mitchell High School in 1973, embarking on a life filled with warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family. She initially worked at Brookhearts out of high school, and after raising her two daughters, Erin Fach and Katie Salinas, she dedicated 15 years to the Security Title Company, from 1994 to 2009. Later, she joined her daughter Erin at Phenix Salon Suites as a receptionist, savoring the joy of working alongside family. Despite her professional accomplishments, it was her role as a homemaker that brought her the most pride, nurturing her daughters with love and care. A woman of simple joys, Susan never missed a Denver Broncos game or a good cup of coffee. Her passion for the Broncos was unwavering, ensuring she had access to the games even on significant dates. Susan was known for her kindness, sweet disposition, and her ability to listen without complaint. She was always there for her family, providing comfort and support with a gentle heart. Susan's creativity shone through her skilled seamstress abilities, crafting intricate Halloween costumes that amazed everyone around her. Her love for good music was evident, and she had a knack for finding the best clearance bargains, never passing up a good deal. Her legacy continues through her children, Erin Fach and Katie (Andreas) Salinas, her siblings Pat Correll and Tracy Book-Mohler (Wayne), and her cherished grandchildren, Sullivan Fach, Eleanor Fach, and Rhy Einspahr, who brought immense joy to her life. A service to honor Susan's life will be held on September 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Simla Cemetery, located at 972-998 Antelope Street, Simla, CO 80835.
