Susan Charnita Waller
March 22, 1955 — July 14, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Susan Charnita Waller, a cherished wife, mother, and friend. Susan left this world peacefully on July 14, 2026, in the comfort of her home, at the age of 71. Born on March 22, 1955, in Magnolia, Arkansas, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late John Paul and Athlene Peace Waller, whose spirits she now joins in eternal rest.
Susan was a woman of remarkable grace and humor, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey through life was marked by a profound sense of compassion, a warm and loving spirit, and a vibrant sense of humor that could light up the darkest of days.
Susan graduated from Magnolia High School in 1973, and furthered her education at Centenary College and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her career was one of dedication and service, beginning at CMS in Texarkana, Arkansas, and later with Social Security in Dallas. She retired as the Branch Manager for Beneficiary Services at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid in Dallas, where she was respected for her unwavering commitment to helping others.
On July 2, 1988, Susan married the love of her life, Randy McLaughlin. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Just days before her passing, they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2026, a poignant reminder of their enduring bond. Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Randy, and her beloved son, John McLaughlin, who were the center of her world and her greatest sources of joy and pride.
Susan's interests were as diverse as they were enriching. She was a master gardener, nurturing both plants and friendships with equal care. An accomplished chef, she delighted in bringing people together through the universal language of food. Her passion for the arts was evident in her patronage of the symphony, museums, and theater. Susan also gave generously of her time, volunteering at the Crystal Bridges Art Center and The Museum of Native American History. Her heart was always open to those in need, serving her neighbors as the neighborhood welcome committee and her church by teaching disabled adults.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held on July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Bible Church, located at 1051 W. Pleasant Grove Rd., Rogers, AR. This service will be an opportunity to honor the legacy of a woman whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Susan's own spirit of giving and her belief in the importance of supporting those in need.
Susan Charnita Waller will be remembered as a beacon of light and love, a woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, humor, and grace. As we bid her farewell, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us, living on in the hearts of those she touched.
Rest in peace, dear Susan. Your journey has not ended, for you live on in the love you have given and the lives you have touched.
