It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Celeste McDonald, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Susan departed this world peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on May 9, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to her loving parents, Maxine and Charles Hand. Susan's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. She shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Steve Wayne McDonald, who was not just her partner in life but her best friend and confidant. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and laughter, raising three wonderful children: daughters Holly Meadows and Casey Fieseler, and son Steven McDonald. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Tanner Eure, Madison Meadows, Cade Fieseler, and Cash Fieseler, who were the light of her life. Susan was also a beloved sister to her brothers, Danny Hand and Curt Hand. A lover of life and its simple pleasures, Susan had a passion for music and spent many memorable evenings in the 70s attending concerts with Steve. She found immense joy in the outdoors, often spending serene afternoons fishing. Her heart was full watching her son play baseball, and she treasured her shopping trips with her daughters, creating lasting memories along the way. Susan was predeceased by her husband, Steve McDonald, and her children, Holly Meadows, Casey Fieseler, and Steven McDonald. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and warmth. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate Susan's life and the love she bestowed upon all who knew her. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support and condolences they have received. In a special message that captures the essence of Susan's loving spirit, she leaves these words to comfort those she adored: "To those I love: If I should ever leave you whom I love to go along the Silent Way, grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there. (I'd come—I'd come, could I but find a way! But would not tears and grief be barriers?) And when you hear a song or see a bird I loved, please do not let the thought of me be sad... For I am loving you just as I always have... You were so good to me! There are so many things I wanted still to do—so many things to say to you... Remember that I did not fear—It was just leaving you that was so hard to face... We cannot see Beyond... But this I know: I loved you so—'Twas heaven here with you!" Susan Celeste McDonald will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, her infectious laughter, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends for generations to come.
