In Loving Memory

Susan Anne Maillet Verville
March 4, 1958 — May 10, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Anne Maillet Verville, who left this world on May 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Susan was surrounded by love and comfort in a hospice setting during her final days, her strength and grace remaining unwavering until the very end. Born on March 4, 1958, in Massachusetts, Susan was the cherished daughter of George Maillet and Marjorie Packard.
Susan's life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and resilience. She shared 14 memorable years of marriage with her husband, David Verville, whom she wed on September 5, 1981, in Brockton, Massachusetts. Together, they nurtured a family filled with warmth and laughter in Randolph, Massachusetts, raising two wonderful children, Daniel and Jennifer, who were the light of her life. Her legacy of love continues through her children, her Son Daniel and daughter-in-law Rebeca and daughter Jennifer Hartman and son-in-law Aaron, as well as the many cherished family members who survive her.
Susan's journey through life was marked by her passion and talent in various fields. A proud graduate of Waltham High School, she embarked on a career that showcased her remarkable skills despite the challenges posed by chronic health issues. Her indomitable spirit was evident in her dedication to her work and the artistic pursuits that fueled her soul.
An avid photographer with a keen eye for beauty, Susan took joy in capturing life's fleeting moments, expertly developing her own photographs in the darkroom she lovingly set up. Her creativity knew no bounds, extending to her garden where she cultivated strawberries, vegetables, and unique flowering plants, always eager to involve her children in the wonders of nature.
Susan's exceptional talent for sewing and costume design was admired by all who knew her. Her most memorable creations—a medieval knight's costume complete with burlap chain mail, a whimsical pumpkin outfit, and an impeccable Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform—remain treasured memories for her family.
A true Pisces at heart, Susan was known for her compassion toward all creatures great and small. She shared her home with an array of furry companions, from dogs to cats to ferrets, each one a testament to her boundless kindness and nurturing spirit.
Susan is survived by her devoted siblings, Ronald (and wife Denise), Paul, Gary (and wife Ann), and Shawn. She is predeceased by her dear brother Bruce, whose memory she held close to her heart.
In this time of mourning, the Verville family extends their deepest gratitude to Susan's siblings, with a special acknowledgment to Denise for her unparalleled compassion and tireless support. Your kindness has been a beacon of light in our darkest hours.
As we celebrate Susan's life, we remember her not only for her many talents and interests but for the love, laughter, and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. While her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and creativity.
A memorial service to honor Susan's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter or hospice organization, in tribute to Susan's enduring love for animals and her compassionate spirit.
May Susan Anne Maillet Verville rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
