It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sunhil Dass, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Sunhil departed this world peacefully at his home on March 9, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 22, 1935, in the vibrant city of Jalandhar, India, Sunhil was the beloved son of Aman and Ishika Dass.
Sunhil lived a life rich with love, family, and integrity. He was a devoted husband to Harleen Kaur, with whom he shared a remarkable 67-year marriage. Their love story began on June 14, 1958, and was marked by mutual respect and unyielding devotion. Together, they built a nurturing home and created a life centered around family and community, leaving a legacy of love that will endure for generations.
A man of learning and curiosity, Sunhil pursued his education with fervor, attending local schools and later earning a diploma in business and commerce. His education laid the groundwork for a successful career in the family trading and small business community. Known for his honesty, fairness, and strong relationships, Sunhil earned the respect and admiration of his peers as a dependable and principled businessman.
Beyond his professional life, Sunhil found joy in the simple pleasures that life offered. He delighted in spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, and celebrating traditions. His love for gardening, Punjabi music, and cricket enriched his days and connected him deeply to his heritage and loved ones.
Sunhil's character was defined by his kindness, humility, and unwavering strength. He possessed a calm and patient demeanor, always ready to offer a listening ear and thoughtful advice. His life was a testament to putting others before himself, and he will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the warmth he extended to all who knew him.
Sunhil is survived by his devoted wife, Harleen, their loving children, Rohan and Gurleen, his three siblings, Nithya, Indu, and Dimmi, and an extended family of cousins, including Aman, Karan, Simran, Jaspreet, and Manpreet. His legacy lives on through his four cherished grandchildren. He also leaves behind a circle of close friends, Rajinder, Baldev, Harjit, Kuldeep, and Paramjit, who will miss him dearly.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Sunhil’s life and legacy.
