Sum Ming Mew Fong

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved family member, our dear mother, Sum Ming Mew Fong. She was the second daughter , the fourth of six siblings of parents Mew Mo Cheung and Low Shun Wan. Sum Ming was the wife of the late Fong Gway Yook, a marriage of more than seven decades. Sum Ming was the devoted mother of 6 children, 3 daughters and 3 sons, daughters- the late Madeline Fong, Lois Fong- Tsukuda, Jennie Jow, sons-Gordon Fong, Calvin Fong, Stanley Fong. In addition she is survived by much loved daughters in law, Laurel, Josie and Weiwei. Sum Ming was the proud grandmother of eight, the late Melissa Fong, Joshua Fong, Dorina Chee, Jolene White, Tiffany Tsukuda, Katrina Tsukuda, Brandon Fong and Jordan Fong. She was the blessed great grandmother of four, Jacob, Toby , Jona and Jayce. Sum Ming bought much joy , love and never ending devotion to the family. She was an accomplished seamstress for decades. She had a fondness for all kinds of savory fried cuisines, especially fried chicken! Shopping was her passion. Looking for bargains especially at Ross bought her a great sense of accomplishment. Particularly, she loved going to the casinos , playing the slot machines and scratching away the Lotto game cards.. Rest in peace, Sum Ming Mew Fong. You will be dearly missed by all who knew you. Thank you Mom! We love you!!
