August 3, 1940 — August 3, 2026

Sue Schellhaas, cherished mother, grandmother, and Gigi, peacefully passed away at her home on her 86th birthday, August 3, 2026. Born on August 3, 1940, in Riverside, California, Sue was the beloved daughter of John and Dorothy Carpenter. Her life was a tapestry of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Sue's journey was marked by her warm smile and generous spirit. She was a beacon of kindness and compassion, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met. She was predeceased by her loving parents and her devoted husband, George Schellhaas, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage beginning on June 29, 2000, in Louisiana. George was the love of her life, and their time together was filled with joy and mutual admiration. Sue's heart was most full when surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children, John (Donna) Rogers and Anna (Amanda) Inman, who were the source of her greatest pride. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren—Paige (Cameron) Bailey, Blaine (Sierra) Rogers, James (Hailey) Truett, Sam Bolin, Ashley (Robert) Rogers, and Kelley (Josh) Brockway—and her eight great-grandchildren—Willow Bailey, Finley Bailey, Liam Rogers, Tatum Rogers, Zealand Rogers, Ava Rogers, Carter Truett, and Gunner Brockway. Each of them carries forward her spirit of love and kindness. Sue's life was enriched by her many passions. She was an avid reader who found solace in the pages of books and joy in the timeless charm of old movies. Her love for gardening was a testament to her nurturing nature, and she found immeasurable happiness in the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Sue's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Gladeville Community Center. Her family invites those who knew her to join in remembering and honoring a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Sue's generous spirit. Sue will forever be remembered for her kindness and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time.
