In Loving Memory
Sue Kellenbach McCaffery
July 19, 1928 — April 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Sue Kellenbach McCaffery, a beloved soul who graced this world with her gentle spirit and loving heart. Born on July 19, 1928, in the quaint town of Lockport, Illinois, Sue peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth.
Sue was the youngest and last surviving of twelve children of Alice and Edwin Kellenbach. Alice and Edwin instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and unwavering compassion. These qualities became the cornerstones of her character, shaping her life and the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her 97 years, Sue embraced life with a joyful heart and a zest for simple pleasures. She was an avid tennis enthusiast, passionately engaged in spirited matches with her beloved tennis community. Her competitive spirit was also evident in her love for playing cards and dominoes—a testament to her strategic mind and joyful camaraderie with friends and neighbors.
A lifelong baseball fan, Sue's enthusiasm for the sport was rooted in her own experiences on the softball field during her youth. Her love for the game was matched only by her love for her family—a family that was the center of her world. Sue is survived by her family members: Jim and Judy Lincoln, Sally and Robert White, and Paul and Mona Lincoln. She also leaves behind the joy of her life—her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.
Sue's life was a testament to the power of a loving and kind heart. Her soft and easy disposition endeared her to many, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who crossed her path. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
In keeping with Sue's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all her kind and loving friends and neighbors who were such an integral part of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williamson County SPCA, an organization close to Sue's heart, reflecting her deep love for animals.
As we bid farewell to Sue, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, forever reminding us of the beauty and grace she brought into this world.
