Sue Lockamy

Sue Lockamy, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026. Born on July 2, 1950 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Sue was the cherished daughter of the late James and Betty Lockamy. Sue grew up in Wilmington, where she developed a love for going to the beach and fishing in her earlier years and always loved being around her family. Proceeds Sue in death are her parents James and Betty Lockamy, her brother James, and her niece Pamela Mintz and nephew James Croom Sue is survived by her sister, Terry Croom, and her nieces Kandy Jones (Britton) and Ashlynn Mintz, along with her nephew Aaron Mintz. She also leaves behind her cherished great-niece Kaylee and great-nephews Brayden and Hudson, who brought joy to her life. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hanover House Assisted Living for their dedicated care of Sue over the past year. Special thanks are also extended to Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their compassion and support during Sue's courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Sue Lockamy's life was a testament to resilience. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
