Born on June 4, 1931, in Ellensburg, Washington, Sue lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and service to others. Sue's journey of learning began in her hometown, where she graduated from Ellensburg High School. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Iowa State University for her undergraduate studies, followed by medical school at Rush University. Her academic excellence was recognized with membership in the National Honors Society Alpha Omega Alpha, where she forged lifelong friendships with fellow scholars and future colleagues. Sue proudly served her country as a doctor with the Public Health Service, dedicating 25 years to military service. Her career spanned over two decades with the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation in Dillingham, Alaska, where she was a beacon of hope and healing for countless individuals. Sue's work was more than a profession; it was a calling that she embraced with unwavering commitment and compassion. In her personal life, Sue was blessed with a loving family. She shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Tim Harris. Together, they raised three children who, along with Tim, survive her and carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Sue cherished her time spent with family and friends, often found with a book in hand or enjoying a run through the tranquil landscapes she adored. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her, creating a community of love and support that transcended the years. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support shown to Sue throughout her life and during her final days.
