Born on April 15, 1947, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sue lived a life filled with grace, warmth, and unwavering love, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Sue was the beloved daughter of Floyd and Jean Hoke, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Roger Grubb, her parents, her brother Pat, her sister Nancy, and her sister-in-law Sophie. Despite these profound losses, Sue remained a source of strength and inspiration to her surviving family: her sons Ryan and Steve, her grandsons Caleb and Tyler, her brother Randy, her sister Colleen, and her brother Steve. Sue was also blessed with two great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her heart. A proud alumna of Thomas Jefferson High School, Sue graduated in 1965, ready to embrace the world with her indomitable spirit. Her career spanned roles at World Insurance, FM 98 Radio Station, and Case Equipment, all in Omaha, Nebraska, where her dedication and precision left a lasting impression. Sue was more than her work; she was a vibrant member of the Omaha Ballet and Dance Traveling Group, sharing her passion for the arts with her community. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether she was watching baseball and football games, especially those involving her son Ryan, or engaging in spirited rounds of KENO and card games. Her attention to detail was evident in everything she did, from her impeccable penmanship to the way she lovingly cared for her home. Sue's warmth was matched only by her generosity, always willing to lend her prized 1967 Mustang to her brothers, Randy and Steve. Her smile, even in the face of adversity, was a testament to her resilient spirit. Despite the challenges she faced at the Ambassador in Omaha, NE, where she received compassionate care, Sue's smile never faded, a beacon of hope and love. A service to honor Sue's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the WestLawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations in Sue's memory to the American Heart Association, reflecting her enduring commitment to heart health and well-being. Sue was a great sister, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a friend to all. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the power of a smile.
