August 11, 1954 — June 20, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Steven "Snooky" Roberson on June 20, 2026, with his beloved family by his side. Born on August 11, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, Snooky was a cherished soul, known for his warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community.
Snooky was the treasured son of the late James Edward Roberson and Margaret Sweatman Roberson. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, but leaves behind a legacy of love through his beloved wife of 34 years, Carol Roberson. Together, they raised two dedicated sons, Joseph Roberson and Daniel Roberson, who will continue to honor their father's memory. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Roberson Mann, and several nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Snooky.
A proud graduate of Columbia High School, Snooky pursued further education at Georgia College. His dedication to service was exemplified through his four years in the United States Air Force, where he reached the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Snooky found his calling in the construction industry as a skilled plumber. He later served Fulton County as an Engineering Assistant, overseeing the construction and maintenance of water treatment plants, where his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence were highly regarded.
Snooky's faith was a cornerstone of his life. As an active member of Berean Baptist Church and previously Glenwood Hills Baptist Church, he joyfully served in the Children's Ministry for many years. His love for the Lord and his family was evident in every aspect of his life, as was his passion for cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Known to many as a kind and gentle man with a fun-loving nature, Snooky's servant spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. His love for people, especially children, was evident in his everyday interactions, leaving an indelible mark on his community and the hearts of those who knew him.
A service to honor and celebrate Snooky's life will be held on June 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Berean Baptist Church, located at 1405 Hewatt Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. Family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6pm-8pm, at Wages Snellville Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, June 29th at 9:30 am.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Snooky are invited to join in remembering a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Children's Ministry or Benevolence/Barnabus fund at Berean Baptist Church, a cause close to Snooky's heart . His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
