Steven Mark Stritzel

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Mark Stritzel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on July 1, 2026, at the age of 61, at his home in Visalia, CA, after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on January 27, 1965, in the warm and welcoming community of Visalia, Steven was the cherished son of Wendell Stritzel and Judy Sampaulesi. He was a beacon of strength and perseverance, embodying the values instilled in him by his loving parents.
Steven attended Clovis High School, graduating in June of 1983, and later pursued a degree in criminal justice from Allen Hancock College in Santa Maria, graduating in 1989. His commitment to service and justice led him to serve in the US Coast Guard from 1987 to 1989, where he embraced the spirit of dedication and duty.
In June of 1990, Steven embarked on a remarkable 33-year career with the Madera County Sheriff's Department, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and determination. Retiring in September of 2023, he left behind a legacy of professionalism, kindness, and a commitment to the safety and well-being of his community.
On March 20, 1993, Steven married the love of his life, Lisa. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Steven was a devoted father to his two children, Jordan and Nathan, and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, Charlie, Oliver, and Sophie. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Steven had a zest for life and a passion for the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who thrived in nature's embrace. He found joy in biking, camping, and the thrill of baseball and football. His love for collecting and mastering the art of firearms made him a proud gun enthusiast.
Known for his friendly nature, Steven never met a stranger. His generous spirit was evident in his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and genuine smile.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Lisa; his children, Jordan and Nathan; his treasured grandchildren, Charlie, Oliver, and Sophie; his father, Wendell Stritzel; and his mother, Judy Sampaulesi. His legacy of love, compassion, and strength will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Steven's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring his spirit of generosity and kindness.
As we say goodbye to Steven, we hold on to the precious memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. He was a remarkable man whose life was a testament to love, service, and enduring faith. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
