Steven was the beloved son of John and Mary Smith, who nurtured his early passion for learning and exploration. He was predeceased by his father, John, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms beyond this world. Steven is survived by his cherished mother, Mary, and his devoted wife of 38 years, Jane Smith. Together, Steven and Jane built a life filled with love, traveling extensively and raising their wonderful son, Liam, who was the pride and joy of Steven's life. A graduate of New York High School, Steven pursued higher education with vigor, earning degrees from both New York University and the University of Florida College of Law. His career was a testament to his unwavering dedication to education, serving in various esteemed positions, including as a campus director in Mahe, Seychelles, and holding numerous executive roles throughout the United States. Steven's work was more than a career; it was a calling, fueled by his belief in the transformative power of education and his commitment to providing opportunities for all. Those who knew Steven will remember his incredible kindness, infectious sense of humor, and his zest for life. An avid runner and triathlon athlete, Steven found joy in pushing his physical limits and exploring the world through his travels. His adventures took him to the far corners of the globe, enriching his life and those of his loved ones with stories and memories that will be cherished forever. Steven's sisters, Marjory, Barbara, and Janet, along with their families, were a constant source of support and companionship throughout his life. They shared in his laughter, his pursuits, and his indomitable spirit, forming bonds that will endure beyond his passing. Steven was deeply committed to several organizations and memberships that aligned with his passion for education. His efforts have left an indelible mark on many lives, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations to pursue knowledge and understanding. As we gather to celebrate Steven's life, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the time we shared and the love he gave so freely.
