Steven Hodges

November 12, 1954 — August 9, 2026

Steven Hodges, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on August 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. Born on November 12, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, to Robert (Bob) and Bessie Marie Hodges, Steven grew up with a spirit of adventure and a deep-seated love for the great outdoors. Steven was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Debbie, whom he married on February 19, 1972. Together, they celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage, filled with shared dreams, adventures, and a love that was evident to all who knew them. A dedicated family man, Steven was the proud father of three children: Casey McCroskey and her husband Jeremiah, Rhonda Minich and her wife Spirit, and Phillip Hodges Sr. and his wife Tina. His six grandchildren, Phillip Hodges Jr., Stephanie Hodges, Austin Minich his wife Skyler, Sierra Webb her husband Tyler, Samantha, and Bailey Powell, and his twelve great-grandchildren, Rylee, Bentley, Saylor, Jocelynn, Oaklee, Octavia, Houston, Dorothy, Lincoln, Easton, Renley, and Austin Riley, were his greatest sources of joy. Steven relished every opportunity to spend time with them, often sharing his love for fishing and hunting, or passing down his mechanical skills to the younger generations. For over 25 years, Steven worked as an over-the-road truck driver, a career that took him to many places but always brought him back to the family he adored. Despite the demands of his job, Steven's heart was always at home, where he was known for his humor and warm, infectious smile. He had a unique ability to make people laugh and could light up a room with his presence. An avid outdoorsman, Steven found solace and joy in fishing and hunting. He cherished the time spent on the water or in the woods, often accompanied by family members, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His love for these activities was only matched by his willingness to help others. Steven spent countless hours teaching family and friends how to work on cars, always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. A private ceremony will be held to honor Steven's life, in keeping with the family's wishes. Steven Hodges was a man who lived life with a full heart, who loved deeply, and who left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by his family and friends.
