Steven Glynn
October 7, 1963 — October 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Glynn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Born on October 7, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri, Steven departed this world on October 3, 2026, surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Steven was the cherished son of Robert Glynn and Dorthy Glynn (Junk). He was predeceased by his father, Robert, and his beloved maternal grandparents, Floyd and Lilly Junk (Darrah), as well as his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Bernice Glynn. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his devoted wife, Denise Glynn (Crowl), whom he married on October 3, 1992, in Independence, Missouri. Together, they celebrated 34 wonderful years of marriage, marking 40 years of shared memories and love.
Steven was a proud and loving father to his three children, Jamie Glynn, Stacie Glynn, and David Glynn, and a doting grandfather to his grandson, Ryan Bogard. He is also survived by his mother, Dorthy Jeffers (Junk), and his siblings: Teri Dewey (Joe), Patty Camp (Dave), Mike Glynn, Susan Knight, Sandy Hatley (Larry), and Tim Glynn (Betty), along with numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Steven's journey in life was marked by dedication and hard work. He attended Hickman Mills High School and began his career in lawn care, landscaping, and irrigation at the age of 18. In 1995, he founded Broadstripe Lawn Care, where he applied his skills and passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces. During the winters, he lent a helping hand as a mechanic with his brother Mike. Steven was also a certified natural gas technician and loved quoting Hank Hill’s famous line, “Propane and propane accessories.” His ability to fix just about anything was admired by all who knew him.
A man of many talents, Steven was a member of the inner city Sugar Creek Optimist Club, alongside his wife, Denise. His dry and sarcastic wit was legendary, as was his commitment to helping others. He was known for his generosity, particularly toward elderly neighbors and customers, always willing to lend a hand without seeking recognition.
Steven's personal passions included a love for NASCAR, especially cheering for Tony Stewart, and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, despite the stress of close games. Weekends at Lake Paradise were cherished family moments, filled with camping adventures. He was an avid fan of beer can chicken and had a gift for smoking food, much to the delight of family and friends. Branson held a special place in his heart, with cherished memories of riding race tracks and enjoying the Presleys’ performances. His woodworking skills were admired by many, and though he often critiqued his work, it was loved and praised by all who saw it.
Steven's love for life extended to his culinary tastes, with a particular fondness for seafood, sweets, and his mother’s cooking. The sounds of 80s rock music were the backdrop of many joyful memories, especially the concerts he and Denise attended during their early years together.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. Their compassion, grace, and kindness during Steven's final days will never be forgotten.
