It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Deon Christiansen, who left this world on April 6, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on October 6, 1964, in Abilene, Kansas, Steven was a beacon of kindness and generosity, whose life was a testament to love, family, and service to others. Steven was the cherished son of Deon and Sherrill (Hendrickson) Christiansen. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sherrill, his infant sister Shelley, and his brother, Scott Christiansen. Steven’s legacy continues through his devoted wife, Connie (Huff-Moore) Christiansen, with whom he shared eight wonderful years of marriage. His daughters, Savannah Gomez, and her husband Carlos, along with their son Asher, and Sherry Adams, and her husband Daniel, with their children Amy and Eli, will forever cherish his memory. Steven's three grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in watching them grow. Steven's educational journey took him from high school in Oklahoma to college, where he pursued a career as a registered nurse. However, his heart led him to the open fields and the fulfilling life of a cattle rancher. His hands were as skilled in mending fences and tending to cattle as they were in playing beautiful melodies on the piano and organ. Music was a lifelong passion that he often shared with Connie, serenading her with his playing while she sang. A man of many talents and interests, Steven found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether camping under the stars, casting a line in a serene fishing spot, or perfecting his golf swing, Steven loved the great outdoors. His garden was a source of pride, and he delighted in keeping his yard immaculate. His warmth extended beyond his family, as he was known for his friendly demeanor and generosity, often sharing his culinary skills with neighbors and friends over a barbecue. Steven was a proud Eagle Scout and a dedicated member of the Lutheran church, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. His involvement in the church community and his commitment to helping others were reflections of his deeply compassionate nature. Known for his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone feel like a friend, Steven never encountered a stranger. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at SSM Hospital in Jefferson City, MO, for the expert and compassionate care they provided during Steven’s final days, as he bravely battled pneumonia and cardiac arrest. A celebration of Steven's life will be held on April 18, 2026, 10:00 visitation and 11:00 Memorial Service at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Lake of the Ozarks. A 2nd Service will be in Norfolk, Nebraska where he will be buried. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Steven's heart. Steven Deon Christiansen touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. His memory will be a guiding light for his family and friends, reminding them of the beauty in living a life filled with love and generosity. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
