It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Chester Wester, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Steven left this world peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on July 19, 1952, in the quaint town of Cedartown, Georgia, Steven's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the pursuit of music.
The son of the late Mattie Lee and Chester Wester, Steven was raised in a home filled with warmth and love, alongside his cherished siblings. Predeceased by his loving parents, as well as his sisters Virginia Lee Wester and Sheila Ann Byrd, and brother Sydney Howell Wester, Steven carried their memory with him throughout his life. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving sisters, Gayle Larraine Davis and Patricia Kay Wester, who were his lifelong confidantes and companions.
Steven's legacy lives on through his devoted children: Julie Nicole Carver, her husband Bryan and her children, Stephanie Rose Wester, Kari-Ann Wolfe and her husband Darrell, Chet Bradley Wester, and Abigail Renee Wester. Each of them carries forward his spirit of kindness, creativity, and dedication.
For over four decades, Steven dedicated himself to the sign business, specializing in graphics and sales. His work was not just a career but a canvas through which he expressed his creativity and commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional success, Steven's heart truly sang when he picked up a guitar. Music was a lifelong passion for Steven, who began playing as a child and never stopped. He graced many stages as a talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter, leaving an indelible mark with his melodies and lyrics.
Steven's life was centered around love — love for his family, his craft, and his community. He was a man who would do anything for his children, offering them unwavering support and guidance. His deep care extended to his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, all of whom he cherished dearly.
As we bid farewell to Steven, we are comforted by the knowledge that his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. His laughter, wisdom, and gentle presence will be missed but never forgotten. In accordance with his wishes, a celebration of life with friends and family will be announced soon.
