Steven Alec Zorn

August 22, 1968 — June 12, 2026

Steven Alec Zorn was born on August 22nd, 1968, the first son of Alec and Beverly (Hahn) Zorn in Minot, ND. He was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1986. Steve met his wife, Brenda (Skoog) Zorn at Minot State University, and they were united in marriage on December 28th, 1991. Together they raised their daughter, Kelly (Zorn) Klabo. Job opportunities brought them to make homes in Nevada, Texas, and North Dakota. He worked as a security guard in both Texas and North Dakota and enjoyed telling stories of rowdy nights on the job. While his formidable and intimidating appearance made him highly effective at his job, family and friends knew his soft and protective heart. He was also proud to own and operate a fireworks business that had been in the family for over 50 years. Steve grew up surrounded by the love of the outdoors which included hunting and fishing and fondly talked about the many fishing trips that his family took while he was growing up. Taking and teaching his daughter to fish was one of his life’s greatest joys. He loved hunting and would look forward to duck, goose, and deer seasons. He was proud to have filled his moose tag. He excelled in athletics in high school and retold the story of his interception in a football game as well as his achievements in track with the shotput. He had a knack for creatively repairing any broken-down car he was determined to bring back to life. He also enjoyed cooking and never met an unusual food he wasn’t willing to try. Steve will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Those who shared in his life: Wife of 36 years, Brenda Zorn; daughter: Kelly (Joseph) Klabo; granddaughter: Josie Klabo; mother: Beverly (Hahn) Zorn; brothers: Michael (Lisa) Zorn, Chad (Jennifer) Zorn; Several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Alec Zorn and his grandparents.

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
