Steve Wayne Downey, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Junction City, Kansas, on October 21, 1961, Steve lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those he cherished. Steve was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Terri, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich with love and filled with cherished memories. Steve was a proud and loving father to his son Harley and daughter Megan, and he cherished his role as a doting grandfather to Hayven and Damien. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured the moments spent watching his grandchildren play, always with a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of pride. For 40 years, Steve worked diligently as a mechanic, a career that not only showcased his skill and expertise but also his dedication and work ethic. He was known for his smart wit and his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His smile was contagious, lighting up every room he entered, and his humor could lift the spirits of even the weariest of souls. Steve's life will be celebrated by his family and friends as per his request he will be cremated. So their will not be a funeral ceremony. To further honor his memory, the Downey family will be hosting a celebration of life at their home on Tuesday, July 28th, from 12 PM to 5 PM. Those wishing to attend are kindly asked to RSVP by texting Harley at 931-933-4260 or Megan at 931-809-1787, or by emailing loverjuicy95@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Steve's memory to a charity of your choice. Steve's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever remain with us.
