Steve (Stavros) Kipros

October 29, 1958 — April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steve (Stavros) Kipros, who left us far too soon on April 6, 2026, at the age of 67. A man of immense warmth and unwavering kindness, Steve passed peacefully at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his extended family, after a courageous battle with complications brought on by heart disease. Born on October 29, 1958, in East York, Ontario, Canada, Steve was the cherished son of Angelo and Helen Kipros. His parents, who preceded him in death, instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and love for family—a legacy that he carried with grace throughout his life. Steve was also predeceased by his beloved sister, Mary, who, alongside her husband Ronald, were integral parts of his cherished family circle. Steve was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sophie. Their marriage of 32 years was a testament to love, partnership, and shared dreams. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. Steve's greatest pride and joy was his son, Billy, who carries forward his father's legacy of kindness and integrity. In the words of Billy, "Dad taught me everything about being a good person, about living life with passion and purpose, and about the importance of family. His guidance was my beacon, and his love, my anchor." Steve's life was enriched by his close relationships with his niece Helen, nephew Billy, and brother-in-laws Peter and Alex (and his wife Gilda). Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the stories and in their hearts. A man of diverse interests, Steve found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for gardening, where he spent countless hours nurturing his plants, finding peace and fulfillment in watching them grow. His love for soccer was legendary among his friends, a sport he played with youthful exuberance and followed with fervent enthusiasm. He was also an avid reader, often found with a book in hand, lost in worlds of adventure and knowledge. Steve's compassionate nature, infectious smile, and genuine warmth endeared him to all who crossed his path. He had a knack for making everyone feel valued and heard, and his generosity knew no bounds. Whether lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear, Steve's kindness left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. In accordance with Steve's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Easter Seals, an organization close to Steve's heart, in memory of his enduring spirit and commitment to helping others. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Toronto General Hospital Heart Unit for their exceptional care, compassion, and tireless efforts in trying to help Steve during his final days. Steve's absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, yet his spirit lives on through the cherished memories and the love he shared. May his journey beyond be filled with peace, and may his memory continue to inspire acts of kindness and love.
