It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Rogers, who left this world on a day that marked both his birth and his departure from us, July 12, 1980, at the age of 55. Born on July 12, 1925, in Brooklyn, United States, Steve's journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to his family and country. Steve was the beloved son of Jane and Odin Rogers, who preceded him in death, as did his uncle, Billy Rogers, and cousin, Casper Rogers. Despite the challenges of his early life, including not having the opportunity to attend school due to his family's financial struggles, Steve's determination and spirit knew no bounds. At the tender age of 18, Steve enlisted in the army, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to serve his country. His dedication and bravery were evident in every aspect of his life, as he served as a soldier with pride and honor until his untimely passing. In 1967, Steve found the love of his life, Kye Xin, and they were united in marriage on a beautiful beach, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with three sons: Cayson, Jimmy, and Steve Rogers II. Steve's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Steve Rogers III and Cayson Rogers II, and his great-grandchildren, Steve Rogers IV and Cayson Rogers III, who will carry forward his spirit and values. Steve will be remembered not only for his service but for the love and warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, strength, and unwavering support. A service to honor and celebrate Steve's life will be held at Garry Fen, located at 45 Main St., on November 22, 1990, at 3:46 PM. In remembrance of Steve, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart. Steve Rogers, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and hero, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
