It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steve C. Almond, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on April 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 14, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia, Steve graced this earth with his warmth and kindness for 74 years, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Steve was the cherished son of Claud and Mary Almond, who predeceased him, along with his sister, Mary Jordon, and stepdaughter, Michelle Davis. Despite the heartaches of loss, Steve's enduring spirit was a beacon of strength for his family and friends. On April 15, 1994, Steve married the love of his life, Linda, in a beautiful ceremony in their hometown of Atlanta. Together, they spent 36 wonderful years building a home filled with love, joy, and countless memories. Linda was Steve's steadfast partner, and their marriage was a testament to unwavering devotion and friendship. Steve's professional life was marked by dedication and commitment. For over 40 years, he worked as a supervisor at an Atlanta news agency, where he was respected and admired by colleagues for his leadership and integrity. His career was not just a job but a second family, where he forged lasting relationships and inspired many with his work ethic and kindness. Beyond his professional achievements, Steve was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as listening to music, engaging in outdoor activities, and bowling. But perhaps his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Known for his fun-loving nature and kind-hearted spirit, Steve was never without a smile or a word of encouragement. His infectious laughter and genuine concern for others enriched the lives of everyone he met. Steve's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, who stood by his side with love and care. He leaves behind his three sisters, Mickey McJunkin and her husband Lee, Vicky Spears and her husband David, and Judy Gifford and her husband Jeff. Steve was also a beloved uncle to four nieces and three nephews, who will forever cherish the memories of their fun-loving uncle. He was a proud grandfather to one grandchild, whom he adored and who brought immense joy to his life. Steve C. Almond will be remembered for his compassionate heart, his dedication to his family and work, and the joy he brought into the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift. A celebration of Steve's life will be held to honor his memory and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Steve's name to a cancer research foundation of your choice, ensuring that his fight against this disease continues to make a difference. Steve's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Steve, knowing you were loved beyond measure and will never be forgotten.
