In Loving Memory

Stephen A. Stasonis
April 24, 1951 — October 27, 2026
Stephen Stasonis, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Naples, Florida. Born on April 24, 1951, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Stephen lived a life defined by love, dedication, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that mattered most to him.
Stephen was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Tomkus) Stasonis.
His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife, Laurie Beth (Hensel) Stasonis; his son, Gary Stasonis (Jennifer) of Pulaski, New York; and his daughter, Stacy Carmichael (Ritchie) of Mascoutah, Illinois. He cherished his grandchildren: Zachary Carmichael (fiancé Mia Mclendon) of Belleville, Illinois, and granddaughters Ashton and Isla Carmichael of Mascoutah, Illinois. His family was a tremendous source of pride and joy, and his love for them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Stephen is also survived by his sister, Susan Marino, of Waterbury, Connecticut; his father-in-law, Charles Hensel (Marcia), of Naples, Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Taylor (Donald) of Naples, Florida, and Cheryl Stolfi (Joseph), of Plantsville, Connecticut. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth, humor, and the special place he held in their lives.
Stephen was a graduate of W.F. Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he developed the skills that would shape his professional life. He went on to dedicate an impressive 50 years to his career as an eyelet toolmaker. His knowledge, craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and commitment to his trade earned him the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him.
Outside of his work, Stephen found great happiness in the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he treasured the peace, adventure, and simple pleasures that came with spending time in nature. Whether casting a line in a favorite fishing spot or exploring the woods, he embraced these passions wholeheartedly and created memories and stories that will be shared for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Stasonis; brother-in-law, Joseph Marino; and nephew, Daniel Collins.
Stephen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
