It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen O. Webb, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 7, 2026, at the age of 81. Stephen was surrounded by his loved ones in the ICU after showing immense courage in his long battle with cancer.
Stephen was born on May 25, 1944, in Spencer, West Virginia, to Josephine L. Webb and Orliss A. Webb, who predeceased him. He grew up in a close-knit family, where he learned the values of hard work, kindness, and humility. These principles guided him through a rich and fulfilling life.
Upon graduating from high school in 1962, Stephen answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army, where he honorably served for four years. After his military service, he embarked on a career with the National Cash Register Company (NCR), where he worked diligently until his retirement. His professional life was marked by dedication, integrity, and a tireless work ethic.
In 1992, Stephen was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Donna Flook, who became his devoted wife for over 33 beautiful years. Their love story was a testament to enduring affection and partnership. Together, they relocated from Ohio to Lawton, Oklahoma, where they made a warm and welcoming home, rich with laughter and love, for the past 26 years.
Stephen was a man of many talents and interests. Known affectionately as "Mr. Fix It," he found joy in attending auctions, tinkering with projects, and refurbishing vintage items. His hands were always busy, crafting beauty out of the ordinary. His passion for sharing stories and bringing smiles to those around him was well-known and cherished by all who crossed his path.
Stephen was deeply committed to his community, serving as a volunteer firefighter in Kettering, Ohio. He was an active member of the Optimist Club and a lifelong Shriner, dedicating his time and resources to charitable causes. His generous spirit and sociable nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, his sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Carl Stone, and his cherished children: Ashley and Emily Webb of Dayton, OH; Geoff and Sarah Webb of Rogers, AR; Lara Flook of Lawton, OK; and Katie and Chris Nyhuis of Mason, OH. Stephen was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Stephen’s family will be honoring his life in a private ceremony, respecting his wish for an intimate farewell. Though his presence will be deeply missed, he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
"Forever in our hearts, deeply missed & loved," his family shares, as they reflect on the extraordinary man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Stephen not only for the battles he fought but for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the stories he left behind. May he rest in peace, knowing his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
