In Loving Memory
Stephen McCary III
June 12, 2006 — April 19, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Stephen McCary III, who departed this world far too soon on April 19, 2026. Stephen was born on June 12, 2006, in Maryville, Illinois, and in his nearly 20 years, he touched countless lives with his radiant smile and boundless kindness.
Stephen was a beloved son to Keota Brown and Demondra Wilson, and to Stephen McCary Jr. He was the cherished partner of Aaryanna Jackson, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they were raising their precious son, Kei’Von McCary, and Stephen was a devoted father who relished every moment spent with his family. His life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding commitment to those he held dear.
Stephen attended East Side High School, where he not only excelled in academics but also nurtured his passion for basketball and music. His talent for rapping was matched only by his love for the game, and he was often found on the court or creating music that reflected his vibrant spirit and profound thoughts. His bright and big smile, punctuated by charming dimples, became his signature, brightening the days of everyone around him.
In his professional life, Stephen was known for his hard work and dedication. He began his career at Taco Bell and later transitioned to working in a warehouse, where he was appreciated for his diligence and positive attitude. Stephen's colleagues admired his work ethic and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce Hicks and Shelby Brown Jr, his great-grandmother Alberta, his infant son Kei’San, his nephew Marquis, and his uncles Ellis and Justin. Their memories will forever be etched in his heart.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever—his fiancée Aaryanna Jackson, their son Kei’Von, his brothers Asa, Yoshua, and Ke’Mareyon Brown, and his sisters Keairah, Mai’Kayla Brown, and Kameleya McCary. Stephen is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and special friends Lorenzo, Aaron, and Erion, who will all carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
Stephen's untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Serenity Memorial Chapel, the Illinois State Police, and the countless friends and family members who have offered prayers, support, and donations during this difficult time.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Stephen's life and legacy. In this time of mourning, let us remember Stephen for his compassion, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely. May his spirit continue to inspire us and may he rest in eternal peace.
