Stephen K. Kinsey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen K. Kinsey, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Stephen departed this world on May 27, 2026, at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Born on February 25, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, Stephen was the cherished son of J. Oscar and Hazel Kinsey. Stephen was a proud 1978 graduate of Cardinal Strich High School, where he first developed his passion for community and service. After completing his education, he embarked on a dedicated career with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), where he worked as a Highway Worker for an impressive 27.5 years. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of his community was evident to all who knew him. On June 25, 1994, Stephen married the love of his life, Angela Kinsey, in a union filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they built a warm and nurturing home, celebrating over three decades of marriage enriched by shared dreams and family traditions. Stephen's love for Angela was profound and unwavering, a testament to the depth of his character and the sincerity of his heart. Stephen was a devoted father, and his love extended even further as a proud grandfather to his four adored grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with his family, often finding joy in simple pleasures like cooking and sharing meals, where laughter and love were always the main ingredients. Stephen's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Maumee, Ohio, where he not only worshipped but also served as an administrator for the Christ in Us Ministry. His dedication to his faith and his community was a guiding light for many, inspiring those around him to live with compassion and grace. In addition to his parents, Stephen is predeceased by his beloved brother, Phillip Kinsey. He is survived by his loving wife Angela, Sons Kenan (Marna) Kinsey, Nicholas Kinsey, Daughters, Mariska Kinsey, Emily (Owen) Pierce, Haily Kinsey and Isabella Kinsey his cherished grandchildren, and a community that will miss his warm smile and generous spirit. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Maumee, Ohio. The service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew him to come together in remembrance and gratitude for a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Stephen's memory to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rite to Life, or Off the Streets, reflecting his lifelong commitment to faith and community service. Stephen K. Kinsey will be remembered for his selfless dedication, his gentle spirit, and the deep love he had for his family and faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
