Stephen Harrison Wilbanks, Sr.

In loving memory of Stephen Harrison Wilbanks, Sr., who passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 14, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 28, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, Stephen was a cherished son of the late James Wilbanks and Anna Gross. He was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of all who knew him. Stephen's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. A proud graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in 1966, he went on to build a fulfilling career as a skilled carpenter. His meticulous craftsmanship and ability to transform raw materials into works of art reflected his passion for his trade and left a lasting mark on the community he served. On October 16, 1999, Stephen married the love of his life, Carolyn Y. Brown. Their marriage was a beautiful journey of companionship and love, one that inspired all who encountered them. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of Stephen's delicious cooking and baking. Stephen also had a knack for fixing things, a hobby that brought him immense satisfaction and joy. His humor and wit were legendary, always capable of bringing smiles to faces. Jazz music flowed through his veins, a soundtrack to the many wonderful moments shared with family and friends. Stephen was never hesitant to express his love for animals and his die-hard support for his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Charles, James, and Claude; his sister, Delores; and his bonus daughter, Sherron. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be held close by his devoted wife, Carolyn; his son, Stephen Jr., and daughter, Shawn, from his previous marriage to Shirley Johnson; his bonus children, Antoine, and Patricia; his daughters-in-law, Dasha and Robin; and his brother, Stanley. Stephen was also the proud grandfather to Tiffany, Stephen, Asia, Jalen, Taniyah, Antoine Jr., Shawn, Kimora, and Riley, and blessed with a great-grandchild, Jayce, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. In addition, he is survived by a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends who will continue to celebrate his life and honor his memory for years to come. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held to honor his memory and the profound influence he had on those around him.
