September 14, 1948 — June 15, 2026

In loving memory of Stephen Bruce Marshall, who peacefully passed away on June 15, 2026, in Cathedral City, California, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on September 14, 1948, in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, Steve's life was a testament to the power of kindness, humor, and resilience. Steve was the beloved son of Lawrence and Pearl Marshall, who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Susan Horton, who carries forward the loving legacy of the Marshall family. A proud graduate of Wilson High School in Portland, Steve was a man who wore many hats throughout his lifetime. His dedication to service was evident from an early age when he joined the Naval Reserve, serving his country with honor for four years. Upon returning to civilian life, Steve embarked on a career that saw him excel at Tektronics in Beaverton, Oregon. However, it was at Pacific Office Automation where he found his true professional home, dedicating many years until his well-deserved retirement. Steve was a man of varied interests and talents. He was an early member of a Ham radio club, where he connected with fellow enthusiasts and explored the fascinating world of amateur radio communication. Yet, it was his backyard in Portland that truly captured his heart. With meticulous care and an artist's touch, Steve created a serene rock waterfall, seamlessly blending nature's beauty with his own craftsmanship. More than his accomplishments, Steve was known for his extraordinary ability to make everyone feel at ease. His ready smile, quick wit, and generous spirit endeared him to all who crossed his path. Whether he was sharing a joke or lending a helping hand, Steve's warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. A grave site service celebrating Steve's life will be held on July 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Skyline Memorial Garden, located at 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a man well-loved. We will gather back to the venue to one of the rooms to enjoy each others company and share memories. In this time of reflection, the family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Arturo Lazaro and Luis, whose unwavering companionship and care provided comfort to Steve in his final days. Stephen Bruce Marshall's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a profound sense of community. His life was a beacon of light, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to illuminate the hearts of those he touched.
