In loving memory of Stephen A. Mingle, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on September 21, 2026. Born on December 20, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, Stephen was the beloved son of India Rucker Mingle and David Rice Mingle. He was predeceased by his devoted parents and his treasured daughter, Melissa Anne Mingle.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Debi, with whom he shared a remarkable 55-year journey filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful sons: Michael, Matthew, and Landon. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Emily Pierson (Scotty), Stephen Mingle, Jonathan Mingle, Alexander Mingle, Christopher Mingle, David Mingle, and Landon Mingle, as well as his precious great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Jacen Pierson. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Tucker (Gary), Margie Crouch (Tim), and Glenn Mingle.
A proud graduate of Glencliff High School, Stephen pursued higher education at Tennessee Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. His career as a civil engineer at Tennessee Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, Tennessee, was marked by dedication and excellence until his retirement.
Stephen was a devoted member of the Northeast Church of Christ for over 50 years, where his faith and commitment to service were evident to all who knew him. His passions included golf, tennis, baseball, and football, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he shared countless moments of play and joy.
Known for his kindness, Stephen had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and valued. His generosity and unwavering faith touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to honor Stephen's life will be held on October 2, 2026, at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 4997 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport, TN.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff and medical teams in ICU at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, for their compassionate and loving care. They also thank everyone who sent prayers and love during this difficult time. Stephen will remain "Forever in our Hearts."
