Stephanie Lee Griffith

Stephanie Lee Griffith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 21, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on April 24, 1971, in Webb City, Missouri, Stephanie was a beacon of kindness and generosity whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Stephanie was the cherished daughter of the late Billy L Phelps and Donna K Degraffenreid. Her early years were spent in the loving embrace of her family, and she graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1990. Throughout her life, she carried forward the values instilled in her by her parents and grandparents, all of whom predeceased her. In her professional life, Stephanie held numerous jobs, earning her CNA license and a tax preparation certificate. Yet, her true calling was her work as an advocate and caregiver for adults with disabilities. Her dedication to helping others was further exemplified when she earned her Targeted Case Management certificate in 2024. Her colleagues knew her as a compassionate and devoted professional whose impact was felt deeply by those she served. Beyond her career, Stephanie was known for her generous spirit and kind heart. She frequently stocked the local blessing box, offering support and sustenance to those in need. Her life was a testament to the power of giving and the difference one person can make in their community. Stephanie married the love of her life, Jeremy Rey Griffith, on July 5, 2018, in Newton, Kansas. Together, they created a loving home in Baxter Springs, Kansas, where they relished spending time with their beloved grandchildren, Michael and Koda, who were the light of her life. Stephanie's heart was fullest when surrounded by her family, whether fishing alongside her husband—outfishing him every time—or enjoying summer days at the creek with her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeremy, her sons, Stephen Wolfe and his wife, Alex Escobedo and his partner, Serenity, her sisters and brother, Billy Phelps and his wife, Shaina, along with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends and family. In accordance with her family's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Stephanie's life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Stephanie's memory to Multi Community Diversified Services in McPherson's, Kansas, reflecting her lifelong commitment to serving others. Stephanie Lee Griffith will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her love for her family, and her dedication to making the world a better place. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who knew her and carry her memory forward.
