Stephen "Steve" Moore, born on March 21, 1963, in Toledo, Oregon, peacefully passed away on June 23, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Steve shared his 63 years of life in the close-knit community of Scio, Oregon, where he touched countless lives with his humor, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Steve was the beloved son of Chester Richard Moore and Delores Joanne Moore, who preceded him in death. Despite this profound loss, he carried their love and values with him throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea Moore, who was his steadfast companion and source of strength. Together, they built a loving family that was the center of Steve’s world.
He was the proud father of Jessica McBride and Justin Ziebart, who, along with his cherished grandchildren Briley, Mady, Monster, and Little Mama, were the light of his life. In their smiles and laughter, Steve found immense joy and purpose.
Steve's legacy is further enriched by his brother, Richard Moore, and sister-in-law, Laurie Moore, as well as his father-in-law, Dick Malloy, brother-in-law, Mike Malloy, and sister-in-law, Vesta Malloy. His life was also graced by the enduring friendships of James Schram, Brian Winkler, and Shane Jordan, who shared with Steve countless adventures and unwavering camaraderie.
A dedicated professional, Steve worked for many years at Georgia Pacific as a skilled millwright. Later, he found his passion at Skyline Ford, where he was an integral part of their racing program. His work was not just a career but a testament to his love for engines and the thrill of racing.
Steve's passion for racing extended beyond his professional life. He was a familiar and friendly face at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon and numerous tracks across Oregon, Washington, and California. Whether he was behind the wheel of a dirt-track car or cheering on fellow racers, Steve's enthusiasm and generosity were infectious. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his fellow racers, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and community.
Steve's life was a testament to the values of love, friendship, and perseverance. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a lifetime of cherished memories. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who carry his memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on July 19th at 1 p.m. at Willamette Speedway 36606 Airport Rd. Lebanon, OR 97355. Please wear your favorite racing attire, and feel free to bring a dessert to share. There will be a picture display; please bring your favorite photographs to share. We hope family and friends will gather and share their memories.
