In Loving Memory

step morher
August 14, 1965 — February 28, 2026
It is with profound sadness, yet deep gratitude for the life she lived, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Ellis, who left this world peacefully at home on February 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 14, 1965, in Wichita, Kansas, Mary was a beacon of love and resilience to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Sandra and Wilfred French, who instilled in her a sense of compassion and kindness that she carried throughout her life. She was also predeceased by her brother, Francisco Jordan, with whom she shared a deep bond.
For 30 beautiful years, Mary was the devoted wife of Everest Ellis. Together, they created a loving family and a home filled with warmth and laughter. As a stepmother, Mary embraced Everest's children as her own, nurturing and guiding Sparkle Ellis, Prince Ellis, Joe Ellis, Kenton Ellis, Lamont Bell, Arielle Hastings, and Jasmine Burelson with unwavering love and dedication. Her family expanded with the joy of 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness into her life. Mary also leaves behind her dear siblings, Deborah Jordan and Chris French, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who were all touched by her generous spirit.
Mary had a unique ability to touch the hearts of everyone she met, offering love and care to anyone who crossed her path. Her legacy is one of kindness, empathy, and a special brand of warmth that made each person feel valued and cherished. Her presence was a blessing, and her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved her.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory, in accordance with her family's wishes. In this time of mourning, the family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love and sympathy they have received. They would like to extend special thanks to Phoenix Hospice and Home Care for their compassionate support during Mary's final days. May God continue to bless and keep each of you who stood by them with love and kindness.
Mary Ellis may have departed from this world, but her spirit lives on in every heart she touched. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be missed beyond measure, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure forever.
